Ilder Betancourt Lopez

Vice President of Student Learning

 

Ilder Betancourt Lopez brings two decades of community college experience, having worked at institutions in Washington, California, and Arizona. Throughout this time, he has served as tenured faculty, instructional dean, institutional researcher, and vice president of both instruction and student services. He joined Cascadia in 2026 as the Vice President of Student Learning, where he provides leadership for all academic programs. He is passionate about working with faculty to sustain instructional programs that transform lives, to uplift pedagogy that centers the most marginalized, and to support curriculum that empowers students.

Ilder has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University, and he also has a Doctorate in Education from University of Southern California (USC). He is a founder of COLEGAS, an organization that supports community college practitioners in Latino student success efforts, and he is currently the president of the Washington chapter.
